Command Center

The Command Center is your live mission control. It acts as a "Daily Discipline Monitor," providing real-time P&L tracking, automated risk enforcement, and a centralized workspace for executing your daily trading plan.

The Guardian

The Guardian is an automated risk officer that monitors your broker connection in real-time via the local gateway. It enforces rules strictly.

Max Daily Loss

Set a hard stop (e.g., -$500). If Realized + Unrealized P&L hits this, the system triggers a FAIL state and advises flattening.

Sentinel List

Pre-market planning enforcement. If you trade a ticker not on your watchlist, the system flags a "Discipline Violation".

Configuration

  1. Click Config in the Command Center header.
  2. Download the Gateway App (Windows/Mac).
  3. Copy your unique Link Key from the web dashboard.
  4. Paste the key into the desktop app to authorize the bridge.
  5. Set your Max Daily Loss limit.

Command Center: The Complete User Guide

The Command Center is your live mission control. Unlike the Journal (which looks backward) or Insights (which looks forward), the Command Center is designed for NOW. It acts as a "Daily Discipline Monitor," providing real-time P&L tracking, automated risk enforcement, and a centralized workspace for executing your daily trading plan.

1. System Status & Live Metrics

The top header provides the vital signs of your trading session.

Connection Status

  • Online (Green Pulse): The OpenTrades Gateway is successfully connected to your broker (IBKR) and is streaming data.
  • Offline (Gray): The bridge is disconnected. Live P&L and Position data will not update.

Live P&L

A real-time readout of your Net Profit/Loss for the current session. It color-codes automatically (Green for profit, Red for loss) to give you an instant health check.

Configuration

Click the Config button to manage your broker connection and risk rules (see Section 5).

2. The Sentinel List (Pre-Market Planning)

The Sentinel List is your "Plan the Trade" workspace. It enforces discipline by requiring you to define your watchlist before the market moves.

Managing Your Watchlist

  1. Add a Sentinel: Use the form at the bottom of the left column.
    • SYM: Enter the ticker symbol (e.g., TSLA).
    • Strategy: Select the specific setup you are planning to trade (from your Playbook).
    • Plan: Enter a brief note (e.g., "Long over 200").
    • Click ADD.
  2. Visual Cues: The list displays the symbol, the strategy color/name, and your note.
  3. Capacity: The list tracks up to 10 active sentinels.

3. Live Positions

The center panel provides a distraction-free view of your active exposure.

  • Active Trades: Each card displays the Symbol, Quantity held, and current P&L.
  • Status: The card indicates the current state of the position.
  • Empty State: If you are flat, the system displays "No Active Trades."

4. The Guardian (Automated Risk Officer)

The Guardian is an automated rules engine that monitors your behavior in real-time. It checks every action against your pre-defined rules.

PASS

You are compliant with this rule.

FAIL

You have violated a risk rule. The icon will pulse red to alert you immediately.

5. System Configuration

To set up the bridge and define your Guardian rules, click the Config button in the header.

Part 1: Connect Broker (IBKR)

To stream live data, you must run the desktop gateway app.

  1. Download Gateway: Click the "Download Gateway App" button to get the Windows Installer (v1.0).
  2. Link Key: Copy your unique Link Key (Bridge Token) from the input field. You will need to paste this into the desktop app to authorize the connection.

Part 2: Set Guardian Rules

Define the boundaries for the automated Risk Officer.

  • Max Daily Loss ($): Set your "Hard Stop" for the day (e.g., $500). If your realized + unrealized P&L hits this number, the Guardian will trigger a FAIL state.
  • No Trade First 60s: If checked, the system monitors for any executions between 9:30 AM and 9:31 AM. This helps prevent impulsive trading at the open.
  • Sentinel Enforcement: If checked, the Guardian will alert you if you open a trade on a symbol that is not on your Sentinel List. This enforces "Trade the Plan."
Saving

Click Save Configuration to apply these rules and generate a new Link Key if necessary.
