The Playbook

The Playbook is the "Alpha Engine" of OpenTrades—a dedicated environment for "Pattern Digitization & Strategy Verification". Professional traders do not guess; they execute defined strategies. The Playbook allows you to codify your specific setups, tag your trades to them, and scientifically verify which patterns are profitable and which are not.

The Playbook: The Complete User Guide

1. The Strategy Lab (Creating a Strategy)

The Strategy Lab is your workshop for codifying new market concepts. Before you trade a setup, you must define it.

How to Codify a New Edge

  1. Locate the Lab: On the Playbook Hub, find the "Strategy Lab" panel (left side on desktop, top/bottom on mobile).
  2. Name: Give your strategy a professional name (e.g., "Morning Breakout", "Late Day Fade").
  3. Concept: Write a brief description of the logic. What is the edge?
  4. Rules: List your strict rules of engagement. Enter one rule per line (e.g., "Price above VWAP," "Volume > 1M"). These will become your checklist.
  5. Color Tag: Assign a specific color. This visual tag will appear on your trade cards and charts for instant recognition.
  6. Save: Click SAVE TO PLAYBOOK to officially add this system to your active deck.

2. The Active Deck (Managing Strategies)

The Active Deck displays your portfolio of live strategies. It provides an immediate health check on your systems.

Strategy Cards

Each card displays high-level KPIs for that specific setup:

Performance Total Net Alpha (PnL)
Win Rate Consistency %
Frequency Trade Count
Rating Algorithmic Score (A+ to C)

Controls & Management

  • • Edit: Hover over a card and click the Pencil Icon to modify rules, name, or color.
  • • Archive: If a strategy stops working, click the Trash Icon. This hides it from your view but preserves all historical data.
  • • Deep Analysis: Click the "Deep Analysis" button (or the arrow) to enter the full audit view.

3. Deep Analysis (Strategy Audit)

Clicking into a strategy opens the Strategy Detail page—a comprehensive audit of that single setup.

Key Metrics

  • Net Alpha: Total cumulative profit generated by this strategy alone.
  • Consistency: The win rate specific to this strategy.

Analytic Panels

  • Rules of Engagement: Read-only view of your strict rules.
  • Best Assets: Which tickers perform best with this setup.
  • Strategy Equity Curve: Cumulative P&L over time.

4. Archiving & Restoration

Markets evolve, and strategies may lose their edge.

  • To Archive: Click the Trash icon on the strategy card. Confirming this hides the strategy from your Active Deck.
  • To Restore:
    1. Toggle the view switch at the top of the Hub from Active Deck to Archive.
    2. Locate the strategy.
    3. Click the Restore Icon (green arrow) to bring it back to your active rotation.
